FINE.  Checked out of the motel and drove down to Coolum where we had brekkie. Drove on down to Nambour and had an hour on a hydroslide. Went to the Big Pineapple* and Alma Park Zoo.

* Australians like their “big things”. The Big Pineapple is a “heritage listed” tourist attraction first opened in 1971 on a pineapple plantation at Nambour.

HOT. Watched the Olympics opening ceremony. Hired a boat and cruised the Noosa River for 3 and a half hours. Went to the beach at Noosa Heads then back to the motel. Had tea at a place called Gingers.
