After a sound, albeit short sleep, we are back out on Lahore’s streets at 8:00 AM. We walk up to the Mall and catch a van along to the post office where we collect our mail: five letters, all of them for Linda. After cashing a couple of travellers cheques at AMEX,, we return to the National Hotel and collect our bags, taking a rickshaw to the YWCA. Two Brits that we had met in the AMEX office had told us, wrongly as it turns out, that the Salvation Army Hostel, our original first choice of accommodation, is closed for renovations.
