FINE. Mucked around till about 11:00  then caught the bus into town. Went to Hungry Jack’s* for lunch and caught a bus up to Lone Pine⁺. Spent about 3 hours up there with the koalas, roos, kookaburras and other critters. Bussed back into town and hung around for a while then caught the bus back out to Ashgrove⁺⁺.

*In Australia, Burger King is called Hungry Jack’s. When BK sought to extend its business to Australia in the 1970’s it found that the name Burger King had already been trademarked by a fast food outlet in Adelaide, South Australia. The company allowed its Australian franchisee, Jack Cowin, to select a name from a list of other BK-owned trademarks, one of which was “Hungry Jack”, a brand of pancake mix. Cowin adapted the name slightly, adding an apostrophe and an “s” to form Hungry Jack’s.
